The government has access to your cell phone records with no court order

Did you know that the government today has access to your cell phone records? There are projects under the sponsorship of the US Department of Transportation to capture cell phone records (some are GPS records other are actual call records by cell tower) in order to map auto traffic flows. The overall project has been going on for at least two years, maybe four, and continues to grow. While the articles that you run into on the web say that it is anonyms, the reality is that these messages are collected and passed on to the DOT or their contractors and there are no way of preventing them from using it in any manner they want.
